After starting with Fortran and writing in machine code for years, I'm too old now to spend hours learning the syntax of arcane system commands so please be gentle. Even went to Broadcom's site but got completely confused by what I read there.Īny suggestions would be gratefully received.

Have also tried using the software manager to install the Broadcom-sta-common drivers - no joy, takes ages and no success/failure notice. Progress bar rapidly reaches 50% then a minute more to reach 95% then a big pause and finally a move up to 98% where is hangs for several minutes before I'm told that the install package has failed. Mint tells me that a proprietary wifi driver can be installed so I go for it. Have used v9 and 10 successfully on an HP Laptop but the machine is playing up so have bought netbook to use in emergency.Ĭreated new stick (tried both Gnome 9 and 10 - with persistence) and booted - no wi-fi. Help needed to get new netbook connected with Mint on a stick.ĭon't trust Windows for internet banking - much prefer to use Live Mint on USB stick.
